Tested for you: Goda’s “Silk Body Oil” from Instagram
The Silk Body Oil is said to be a true miracle product, if the manufacturer is to be believed. It promises to firm up sagging skin and aims to prove it with before-and-after photos. But pictures are patient and can be edited…
The reason why the skin looks wrinkled and creased is then explained as follows: “This is mainly caused by the breakdown of structural proteins, moisture loss, and external factors that make the skin thinner and less elastic. Its texture is reminiscent of fine crepe paper or parchment.” These are facts.
The main causes of the wrinkled appearance are also correct. Namely:
- Breakdown of collagen and elastin: As we age (starting around age 25–30), the body produces less collagen (which provides firmness) and elastin (which provides elasticity). The fibers in the connective tissue break down, leading to a loss of firmness and structure.
- UV radiation (photoaging): Excessive sun exposure is a major factor. It causes massive damage to the connective tissue by releasing enzymes that destroy collagen fibers.
- Dehydration: Crepey skin is often extremely dry skin. The loss of hyaluronic acid and fat tissue in the subcutaneous layer causes the skin to “sag” and fine lines to form.
- Hormonal changes: Especially during menopause, declining estrogen and progesterone levels lead to thinner skin and reduced moisture retention.
- Lifestyle: Smoking, alcohol consumption, lack of sleep, stress, and an unhealthy diet accelerate skin aging.
- Weight loss: If the skin no longer has enough elasticity to adapt after rapid weight loss, it can sag and become wrinkled.
Goda Silk Body Oil Women is supposed to fix all of that. It’s touted—especially on Amazon—as a “firming, anti-aging, moisturizing formula; crepey skin hydrating after-shower treatment; fragrant organic blend; premium skincare.” It’s supposed to do the following:
- Tightens crepey skin: Formulated to support skin elasticity with natural oils that help improve the texture and appearance of sagging skin
- Deep, long-lasting hydration: The fast-absorbing formula delivers intense moisture without a greasy residue, keeping skin silky smooth all day long
- Luxurious fragrance experience: Notes of vanilla, lavender, and cocoa create a seductive scent that lingers beautifully on your skin
- High-quality organic oil blend: enriched with shea butter, argan oil, jojoba, and vitamin E for nourishing anti-aging skin benefits
- Perfect post-shower oil: The lightweight formula absorbs quickly into damp skin and locks in moisture for radiant, youthful-looking skin
The four-week program with Goda Silk Body Oil promises:
Week 1 -Deep hydration begins
Your skin starts to properly absorb the oil instead of just letting it sit on the surface. Dryness subsides, your skin feels softer, and that dull, tired look begins to fade..
Week 2 – Skin texture becomes smoother
Crepey areas on the décolletage, neck, and arms appear visibly more even. Fine lines are softened, and the skin feels plumper and more elastic.
Week 3 – Firmer, more toned skin
The skin appears firmer and renewed. You might even take a second look in the mirror. Clothes glide more smoothly over your skin, and your self-confidence rises.
Week 4 – Visible change
The wrinkled skin texture is significantly reduced, the skin tone appears more even, and the glow is unmistakable. Friends start asking what you’re using—the results speak for themselves.
Unfortunately, no…
I’ve now used up my third bottle, applying the oil every morning and evening, but none of the promised miracles have materialized. Yes, my skin is well-hydrated and feels supple. The scent and silky texture of the oil, which absorbs quickly, are also pleasant. But that’s true of most body oils. Yet there’s no sign of firming or smoothing out wrinkles—not even upon a second glance in the mirror. How could there be!
Admittedly, Goda Silk Body Oil Women contains high-quality oils, and vitamin E (tocopherol) is a powerful antioxidant that protects the skin from free radicals, provides intense hydration, and strengthens the skin barrier. But ingredients like shea butter, jojoba oil, almond oil, cocoa butter, and argan oil are found in most body oils—they’re standard, so to speak. This can temporarily smooth out superficial wrinkles. However, it cannot correct deeper “defects,” as described above.
To avoid any misunderstandings, the following disclaimer can be found on the Goda website: Results may vary from person to person. These stages of progress are based on genuine feedback from verified Goda customers, but do not guarantee identical results. Visible improvements depend on factors such as frequency of use, skin condition, lifestyle, hydration, and overall health. Most users report visible changes within 4 weeks, while full results are typically seen after 30 to 90 days of daily use.
Warning! Subscription trap
What I found particularly frustrating, however, was that a single order led me into a subscription trap. Even though I had only ordered two bottles once, another shipment for two bottles was charged to my PayPal account by UMAEZ PTE LTD, and I was also bombarded with advertising from Goda. I immediately complained to Goda, but they claimed I had signed up for a subscription. Which was not the case! It took several emails before I finally got some peace. However, I am not an isolated case, as you can read on Trustpilot…
Goda Silk Body Oil is sold on Amazon or via Goda ffor 29.75 euros
