Tested for You: “Phytomelatonin Rejuvenating Eye Cream” by Irene Forte
Eye cream—do you really need it? Yes and no, is my honest answer. It depends on the face cream you use—and also on the individual condition of the skin under your eyes. If I use a mild face cream that’s free of fragrances and acids, I apply it all the way to the edges of my eyelids. However, if the skin in this area is very dry and prone to puffiness or dark circles, or if it reacts irritably to facial skincare products, you should use a special eye cream. These often contain active ingredients that counteract puffy eyes—such as caffeine—or provide extra moisture with hyaluronic acid.
The reason the skin under the eyes is often more sensitive than the rest of the face is that this area has very few sebaceous glands, which means it lacks a protective lipid film (oil film). It also lacks protective subcutaneous fat tissue to act as a natural cushion. The fine blood vessels lie very close to the surface, which can lead to bluish shadows or dark circles under the eyes.
On top of that, the skin here is much thinner than in other areas. At 0.3 to 0.5 millimeters, it is the thinnest on the human body—more precisely, about three to five times thinner than the skin on the rest of the face or body. And last but not least, the eye area is subjected to a great deal of strain every day. The facial muscles move it countless times with every blink—an estimated 14,000 to 20,000 times a day.
Eye cream with phyto exosomes
Eye creams have now also entered the next generation. “Phytomelatonin Rejuvenating Eye Cream” by Irene Forte is a rich cream based on longevity research. Exosomes are tiny, intelligent transport vesicles released by cells and found in humans, plants, and animals. These plant-derived extracellular vesicles in the cream act as natural messengers that transport active ingredients deep into the skin, stimulate cell communication, and support skin regeneration and collagen production.
In addition to phyto exosomes , the formula contains organic peptides derived from green peas, Dr. Ferri APM, a patented phytomelatonin technology, as well as a Centella Longevity Complex, a Tetra-Ceramide Complex, and hyaluronic acid. The formula helps combat fine lines and wrinkles, loss of firmness, dark circles, puffiness, dehydration, and redness. According to clinical studies, numerous signs of skin aging are reduced after just four weeks of use.
I find this cream particularly pleasant for mature skin. It spreads easily. Despite its rich texture, it doesn’t feel heavy. And my skin stays hydrated for 48 hours. Especially with the current heat, I use it in the morning and at night because I notice that the area under—and also above—my eyes is drier than usual. Plus, the area around my eyes looks somehow brighter and fresher.
My tips for use
I follow my skincare routine as usual: first cleansing, then toner and serum. After that, but before applying my day or night cream, it’s time for the eye cream. A small amount of the “Phytomelatonin Rejuvenating Eye Cream.” I apply it to the ceramic applicator included in the package and gently smooth it over the skin under and above my eyes. Clean the tip after use. I apply any remaining eye cream—especially in the evening—to my lips and the skin around my mouth to help reduce fine lines and wrinkles.
