Tested for You: New Eye Contour Cream with OliPhenolia from Fattoria La Vialla

OliPhenolia—for those who aren’t familiar with the term, here’s a brief explanation. It’s the bitter olive mill water (also called “Acqua Mora”) produced during the cold pressing of fresh olives. In the past, it ended up in the wastewater from olive oil mills. But the Lo Franco brothers, owners of Fattoria La Vialla, have teamed up with scientists to develop a patented, purely physical process to extract something valuable from this “wastewater”—namely, highly concentrated antioxidants. That’s because Acqua Mora is rich in valuable polyphenols (secondary plant compounds).

In many types of vegetables, nuts, and fruits, phytochemicals act as a kind of protective shield against natural enemies. In organic olives, they are found primarily in the skin, where they ward off pests and protect the fruit from UV rays and other environmental stresses. Olives and wine are particularly rich sources of powerful antioxidants. Polyphenols also have anti-inflammatory and antibacterial effects.

Farm-to-face approach

The entire line of biodynamic cosmetics from Fattoria La Villa is based on OliPhenolia. Biodynamic means that these are certified natural cosmetics. All raw materials come from strictly biodynamic farming (Demeter standard). The farm operates in closed cycles with its own livestock and composting system to maximize the vitality of the plants. The soil is viewed as a living organism and is nurtured with special biodynamic preparations.

The brand completely avoids synthetic pesticides, chemical fertilizers, and artificial fragrances and preservatives. The entire line is Demeter-certified—a distinction held by very few cosmetic brands worldwide. Production and ingredients are therefore subject to the highest biodynamic standards. The “farm-to-face” approach is 100 percent traceable.

Biodynamic Cosmetics of Demeter Quality

New to the natural cosmetics line is the eye contour cream. It contains two powerful antioxidants—highly concentrated olive polyphenol extract (0.37%) and grape extract (0.04%), which is rich in resveratrol. It also contains extra virgin olive oil (18%), obtained by cold-pressing the olives in the Fattoria’s oil mill, as well as ultra-pure olive and grape water. The botanical water (olive 53%, grape 1.25%) is processed using mechanical filtration.

High-quality ingredients from biodynamic farming combine here to create an extremely pleasant skincare formula with a texture that absorbs quickly. The delicate eye area is intensely moisturized, remains protected from free radicals, and the first signs of premature skin aging are reduced. The best part: Although the cream looks very rich in the jar, it doesn’t leave the skin feeling greasy.

How to use: dab on—do not rub

I apply a small amount around the eye area in the morning and evening after cleansing. Pat it on—don’t rub—then gently tap it in. You only need a rice-grain-sized amount per eye. It’s best to use your pinky fingers and dab the cream from the inner corner of the eye (where the nose meets the eye) toward the outer corner, applying it to the bony ridge under the eye and beneath the brow bone. Don’t apply it too close to the lash line. Gently pat the product in until it’s fully absorbed. This stimulates microcirculation and lymphatic drainage.

Fattoria La Vialla guarantees the effectiveness and skin compatibility of its products through scientific studies conducted by RSC Pharma and clinical tests by dermatest. For the eye cream, the following effects have been proven after four weeks of use: Moisturizing +37.6%, reduction in dark circles -21%, reduction in eye puffiness -21%, reduction in fine lines -24%.
