The Silk Body Oil is said to be a true miracle product, if the manufacturer is to be believed. It promises to firm up sagging skin and aims to prove it with before-and-after photos. But pictures are patient and can be edited…
The reason why the skin looks wrinkled and creased is then explained as follows: “This is mainly caused by the breakdown of structural proteins, moisture loss, and external factors that make the skin thinner and less elastic. Its texture is reminiscent of fine crepe paper or parchment.” These are facts.
The main causes of the wrinkled appearance are also correct. Namely:
Breakdown of collagen and elastin: As we age (starting around age 25–30), the body produces less collagen (which provides firmness) and elastin (which provides elasticity). The fibers in the connective tissue break down, leading to a loss of firmness and structure.
UV radiation (photoaging): Excessive sun exposure is a major factor. It causes massive damage to the connective tissue by releasing enzymes that destroy collagen fibers.
Dehydration: Crepey skin is often extremely dry skin. The loss of hyaluronic acid and fat tissue in the subcutaneous layer causes the skin to “sag” and fine lines to form.
Hormonal changes: Especially during menopause, declining estrogen and progesterone levels lead to thinner skin and reduced moisture retention.
Lifestyle: Smoking, alcohol consumption, lack of sleep, stress, and an unhealthy diet accelerate skin aging.
Weight loss: If the skin no longer has enough elasticity to adapt after rapid weight loss, it can sag and become wrinkled.
Goda Silk Body Oil Women is supposed to fix all of that. It’s touted—especially on Amazon—as a “firming, anti-aging, moisturizing formula; crepey skin hydrating after-shower treatment; fragrant organic blend; premium skincare.” It’s supposed to do the following:

To travel during my profession as a beauty journalist was never enough for my. Also my six month on a world trip didn’t do it. It always attracts me to other cities, foreign countries, on roadtrips and places I don’t know yet. But I am not only interested in “culture” and “cream”, I am also fascinated by people who have stories to tell . Such unique experiences I want to share with you.
To be honest, oils have never really been my thing. Too greasy, still on my skin when I want to get dressed. Nothing but preconceptions. I’ve since been proven wrong—at least when it comes to the body.
I find body oil particularly pleasant in fall and winter. It provides warmth and helps you feel good about your body. It’s obvious why you should use richer skincare products in cold temperatures. The constant change between cold air outside and warm, dry air inside means that your skin is even more grateful when it doesn’t lose moisture.
This is where oils come into play. Pure oils themselves are not moisturizing, as they do not contain water and are water-repellent (hydrophobic). However, they have moisture-binding properties, as they coat the skin and seal it, so to speak. This prevents the skin’s natural moisture from evaporating too quickly. In this respect, oils indirectly contribute to hydration by reducing moisture loss and strengthening the skin barrier. In any case, you should find out beforehand what type of oil to use and in what composition.
Using oils correctly
A skin care oil should always be massaged into damp skin. This allows the oil to penetrate more quickly and deeply. If, on the other hand, you apply oil to dry skin, a greasy film will form on the face or body areas that have been treated with it. This effect should be avoided.
Firming body care oil
I prefer to use A4’s Golden Body Oil after showering, on skin that is still damp and has only been patted dry with a towel. I put a small amount of the oil in my palms—less is more!—and massage it into my body using large, circular movements. The oil combines with the moisture and the skin’s own emulsifiers to form an emulsion that can penetrate deeper into the skin. In fact, our skin also protects itself with a hydrolipid film consisting of fats and water. This protective layer prevents the skin from losing too much moisture. A care oil, when used correctly, can support this process.
Golden Body Oil absorbs quickly and leaves a velvety, shiny finish. The highly concentrated oil makes the skin beautifully smooth and supple. No annoying oily film on the skin. It contains only high-quality oils such as sweet almond, jojoba, argan, and plukenetia oil, as well as antioxidant sunflower oil and plant extracts from green tea and Kigelia Africana, which tightens the skin and improves its elasticity.… weiterlesen

Today a body oil: With recommendations it is always such a thing. Especially when they go into the health area. So-called health claims may not be made by the companies, so many good “side effects” of products often remain hidden. One such case is the product we’re talking about here today. An exception at #me, because it is not entirely new and has been part of my basic equipment in the beauty wardrobe for about two years, so I have not tested especially for this. What I wrote here, is therefore rather a real experience report.
The Body Oil Testt
Actually, my therapist always uses Pharmos Natur’s “Detoxing Body Oil” in the signature body treatment “Vegeto-Dynamik”, a holistic body treatment developed by Pharmos founder Margot Esser. A kind of journey to oneself. The oil is said to complement the effects of massage, regenerating skin and tissue, decongesting, detoxifying, as well as reducing swelling. It is also recommended for cellulite. The combination of immortelle, laurel, cypress, juniper and lemon oils is responsible for its effect. In addition, the oil of black sesame. It belongs to the sacred plants, the plants that according to Pharmos philosophy can store a lot of light energy and give energy.
Beneficial “side effect“
The oil is easy to apply and immediately unfolds the tangy-fresh scent, which, however, does not drown out everything. It absorbs well, but not so quickly that you could no longer massage with it. In the treatment is lavishly dealt with it. At home, I take significantly less – and I also do not apply it to the whole body.
But very targeted: When I need more lightness in the legs after a long hike or shopping tour and also – attention, now it’s medical – when I have bumped or sprained something. I discovered the latter rather accidentally when I had neither cold pack nor cooling ointment at hand and applied the oil after an encounter of my knee with the stairs. Since then, I have always noticed: bruises and swellings disappear faster, in mild cases already the next day, or they do not appear at all.
Fazit: Ausprobieren! Bei mir wirkt’s.

Since many years I am working as a freelance writer of beauty and lifestyle topics for magazines like Vogue or Glamour. What drives me again and again: not only the product or the trend, it is the people and the story behind – and what it does to us. In addition, my job often takes me to the most beautiful places in the world. Even in private one likes to find me in one or the other wellness location, research not excluded. Culture and Cream, then. Always in the luggage: fragrance, sunprotection and lipstick. What color? Red. What else
