Tested for you: Active medical ingredient cosmetics from Von Lupin
Active medical ingredient cosmetics are not new territory for me. I have been using products from Doktor-Brands for years. What made me curious about the Von Lupin skincare system was the beauty code, which assigns the perfect skincare combination to every skin need. Because the credo of the two founders Susann Klein und Stephanie von Lupin, both experts in cosmetics and active ingredients respectively, is: “Every skin is as unique as a fingerprint.”
Active ingredient cosmetics with a smart number system
The two beauty experts have therefore developed a code that can be used to put together a personal care system. How does it work? Each product has a combination of numbers and letters and is marked with one of six colors. The numbers stand for the sequence of care steps in which the products are to be used, the letters mark the individual products within a care step. The colors in turn stand for the care category. This makes it easy to identify products that belong together. This not only makes the daily beauty routine easier, but also makes it easier to reorder products.
At the heart of the active medical ingredient cosmetics is the deep-acting Basic Care, which can be individually enriched with various concentrates. The special feature of the two basic care products is their multi-layered liposomes, which help to channel active ingredients into the deeper layers of the skin. At the same time, they increase the skin’s ability to absorb subsequent care products. You can choose from Basic Care Ceramid, which supports the skin barrier with liposomes and ceramides. The Basic High Active anti-ageing basic care contains micropeptides to support collagen and hyaluronic acid production. A total of eleven concentrates are available to combine with the basic care.
With such an overabundance of active ingredient compositions and the countless possible combinations, it’s clear that users (the products are unisex) will struggle to find their way around on their own. There is a personal code for this active medical ingredient cosmetics . It is generated based on the individual skin type and condition. It is generated by one of the Von Lupin beauticians in the more than 401 institutes in Germany. The products are also available from the specialist beautician and via the associated online store.
My beauty schedule
My personal beauty code for these active medical ingredient cosmetics was also determined using a questionnaire. It asked about the condition of my skin, for example how my complexion looks immediately after cleansing. Mostly rosy. What my skincare goals are. I asked about firming, radiance and smoothing expression lines. What I have already done to achieve these improvements. My answer: Cosmetics, regular cosmetic treatments and apparative treatments such as microneedling and hydrafacial. Of course, I was also asked how I currently look after myself, whether I smoke, have a lot of stress and how much time I spend in front of my computer and smartphone.
Based on this information, I received my personal beauty code. It reads: 1a2b3d4b5c6c7e8I – eight products. Quite a battery of thie active medical ingredient cosmetics in the bathroom, which scared me at first. I spent days sneaking around the admittedly pretty, clean designed bottles until I dared to use them. But in the end, I stuck to the concept of the yctive medical ingredient cosmetics :
1a Cleansing Foam – lather with wet hands in the morning and evening and rinse off with plenty of water.
2b AHA Enzyme Peel – Apply 1-2 times a week to dry skin with dry hands. Leave on for 10 minutes. If the peel looks oily and transparent, massage in again. Wash off with plenty of water.
3d Anti-Age Lotion – apply the lotion to a cotton pad in the morning and evening and wipe over the face.
4b Basic High Active – apply a pea-sized amount to the palm of your hand in the morning and evening, mix with concentrates and apply.
5c Stemcell Serum – mix a few drops with Basic Care twice a day and apply to the skin.
6c Eye Contour Cream – gently pat in a pea-sized amount around the eye in the morning and evening.
7e Liposome Mask – apply an almond-sized amount to the skin once a day and leave on for at least ten minutes. I have chosen the option of using the mask as an overnight mask instead of a night cream.
8l Lifting Cream – Apply a bean-sized amount to the face, neck and décolleté once a day.
My evaluation
Once you get used to the system of these active medical ingredient cosmetics , it no longer seems so complicated. The products are all odorless and free from harmful substances such as mineral oils and silicones. The textures are pleasant and quickly absorbed. Von Lupin also offers a clear guarantee: if there is no visible improvement in the skin within eight weeks, a 100 percent replacement will be provided.
However, I will not be taking advantage of this. After eight weeks of use, my skin looks beautifully cared for and well nourished. The contours also seem a little firmer and the expression lines, especially around the eyes, have diminished.
The fact that I always have to pack so many products is a bit of a hindrance for me as I travel a lot. The airless dispensers are unsuitable for air travel anyway, as their pump mechanism cannot cope with differences in altitude. The expanding air pushes the dosing plate in the dispensers upwards as soon as they have been used and the contents can escape. Only completely full dispensers are unproblematic, as no air has yet collected under the plate. When I travel by plane, I therefore follow the Von Lupin tip and mix the Basic Care, serums and cream together in a small jar. This is practical and also saves on luggage!
