5 Tips For More Productivity In Everyday Life

Everyone can increase their productivity, no matter what type of person you are. Successful coach Grigori Kalinski gives tips on how to be more productive and therefore more successful.

You’ve set yourself big goals and can’t wait to get going to achieve them? Maybe you are one of those people whose motivation disappears after the first few meters and your progress stagnates. Or maybe you are one of those people who are busy all day long and still can hardly cross tasks off their to-do list because their way of working is not very effective. Or maybe you belong to the group of people who live their lives mainly for others and fall by the wayside. No matter which group of people you belong to, everyone can implement these tips.

Tip 1: Minimize your distractions

Do you know this? You make a firm resolution to sit down at your desk at a certain time and start working. So you get up on time, enjoy your breakfast, sit down at your desk on time – and the phone rings. You answer it and realize that it’s your girlfriend asking you to quickly do the shopping. So you go shopping and then sit down at your desk again to finally start working. After a few minutes, the cell phone display lights up again – your mother has written to you and asks you to do her a favor, which you of course do.

It’s like this all day long, and in the end you’ve accomplished nothing – or very little – from your to-do list. Everyone around you is happy, except you, because you have no time for your own goals. Avoid this problem by setting clear times with your environment when you want to have your peace. It also makes the most sense to turn off your cell phone during these times. This way you can concentrate on your work and check what’s new and who you can help after work.

Tip 2: Avoid stress in the morning

The more relaxed you start the day, the more productive you will be. Therefore, don’t set your alarm 15 minutes before you plan to start work, but an hour before. Get up calmly, get ready, treat yourself to a delicious breakfast and a short walk in nature, and then start your first task. You will find that such a morning routine will help you to be much more efficient. Of course, you don’t have to plan your morning routine exactly as described here – the main thing is that you start the morning with something that is good for you and relaxes you!

Tip 3: Set small interim goals

Many people who believe in success claim that goals should always be as big as possible, because otherwise there is no motivation to achieve them – because if the goal is only a stone’s throw away, it’s not worth the effort. So much for the theory, which sounds quite logical at first. But in fact it is usually the case that we are not motivated by large goals, but are downright slain.

Especially when we don’t have some skills yet that we need to acquire in order to reach this goal. Therefore, it is good if you always have your final goal in mind, but the way there with small intermediate goals. In this way, you take the threat out of the mountain and start running much sooner – because the intermediate goal seems much more realistic and easier to reach at the moment.

Tip 4: Reward yourself for your successes

Unfortunately, we humans are often brought up to focus only on the things that don’t work (yet). If something works well for us, we often take note of it, but we do not pay any further attention to these successes. This is fatal! Get into the habit of consciously noticing every success, no matter how small, and reward yourself when you have made progress.

This will release endorphins, which will make it much easier for you to work on your next goals – because our brain wants more of the things that make us happy. If you connect your goals and work with positive emotions, you will find more and more joy in it.

Tip 5: Don’t be too hard on yourself

It’s perfectly okay if there are days when you don’t get as much done as usual. Don’t make the mistake of judging yourself for this, but instead treat yourself with love and understanding at this point. Recognize that you may have been overworking yourself a bit lately and therefore desperately need a break – and give it to yourself.

Schedule a little time for yourself every day. In these, for example, 30 minutes you dedicate yourself only to things that make you happy. If you have a slump, don’t punish yourself, but be your best friend at that moment. Devote yourself to another activity and simply start a new attempt the next day. A little time out at the right time can work wonders.

Conclusion

With a few small tips you can significantly increase your productivity in the future. Minimize distractions so that you can fully focus on your goal or your work. First you should do your own tasks and if there is still time, you can help other people. In addition, you should avoid stress in the morning so that you don’t start the day in a bad mood.

Divide big goals into several intermediate goals, so that it is easier for you to start running towards the goal. Also, reward yourself for every little progress and don’t judge yourself for mistakes, setbacks or even for having a bad day. Such days are part of life and signal to you that it’s time to slow down. Listen to yourself and you will be able to achieve all your goals!
