I always associate gel masks with refreshment. That’s why I find them an ideal product to complement my usual skincare ritual, especially in summer. With the “Water Melon Glow Mask” from M. Asam, however, I experience a surprise in two respects: First of all, the color. In the jar, the gel mask with a light glitter texture glows red like a freshly cut watermelon and also exudes a deliciously fruity fragrance. And then the feel: on the skin, it has a slightly velvety, oily effect and immediately coats the complexion with a beautiful glow. Gel mask with shimmer texture This magical formula derives its glow from the Wu-Zhu-Yu plant, which is one of the medicinal herbs used in TCM medicine. Watermelon extract moisturizes the skin from within. The product is vegan, the jar is made from compensated plastic “Plastic Net-Zero/plasticbank”. The mask fulfills a wide range of skin care needs: Pre-aging, anti-aging, wrinkles and lines, loss of elasticity. When I use it, I am rewarded with an extraordinary skin care experience. The complexion appears better supplied with blood, it looks revitalized and radiant. This was also confirmed by the test subjects (30) of a small study commissioned by M.Asam in April 2022. The answers stated: “My skin feels supple and soft” (87 percent) or “My skin appears well supplied with blood” (83 percent). For more glow during the day I used the gel mask twice a week. On a cleansed face, of course.I prefer to apply masks with a wide brush like the beautician does. This makes it easier to spread the product and the layer is evenly distributed all over the face. But you can of course also use your fingers. After about 15 minutes, I gently removed the residue with a damp cloth. I prefer to use the watermelon mask in the morning, provided I have enough time. The bronzing drops from the Sunny Glow line belong to the American cosmetics company Pacifica Beauty, based in Carpinteria. It was founded in 1996 in Portland, Oregon by Brook Harvey-Taylor on her personal path to self-discovery and environmental awareness, together with her husband Billy Taylor. Brook Harvey-Taylor is considered a pioneer of 100 percent vegan, cruelty-free and clean beauty. Even though the names are very similar, the Californian brand should not be confused with Verona Pooth’s German beauty brand “Pacific Healthcare“. Bronzing drops from California The Bronzing Drops provide the perfect glow for the summer complexion. Even if your skin is already slightly tanned like mine, the drops give it a fresher and more vital radiance thanks to vitamin C, glycolic acid and kakadu plum. I use them to highlight my cheeks, forehead and the tip of my nose, and that’s what they’re designed for. You only need a few drops. I find the product unsuitable for applying to the entire face, unless you want to play along with Karl May. I also find the bronzing drops ideal for modeling the jawline. The Bronzing Drops also have a toning, protective and nourishing effect and are free from silicones and parabens. Incidentally, the color harmonizes with every skin tone – from light to dark. Peeling first Any tanning product looks much better on perfectly smooth skin. That’s why the Glow Baby range includes the Brightening Peel Pads. They contain rich complexes of various vegan fruit acids (10% AHA and BHA) such as lactic acid, glycolic acid and salicylic acid. Apple fruit extract moisturizes and also has a soothing effect. A radiant complexion drop by drop. Yes, that’s what I want – and not just for major holidays and festive occasions, but every day. This means that the glow on my face must not be too penetrating and conspicuous, but must look beautifully subtle. A real radiant complexion. And I have found my perfect recipe for this: Duo for a radiant complexion For my radiant complexion I use the “Glow Concentrate 5% Vitamin C + Aloe Vera” (Glow Drops) and the “9-Ingredient Facial Care”. Both from Typololy. It is the perfect duo for an instant, vibrant glow to the skin. All tiredness disappears from the face. The “Glow Concentrate” contains antioxidant vitamin C and aloe vera for a fresh radiance. The mica particles still look very intensely shimmering in the bottle, but as soon as you use the pipette to mix two to three drops into your foundation, tinted serum or day cream, the shine factor is minimized. In this way, you can also determine the intensity of your glow yourself. For a more intense result, simply add a few more drops. Because I’m not a foundation user, I use Typology’s “9-Ingredient” moisturizer with hyaluronic acid, which is derived from fermented wheat. Another key ingredient is organic coconut oil, which nourishes the skin and prevents it from drying out. I find the minimalist, fragrance-free cream perfect for me because of its light, non-oily texture. This makes it suitable for all skin types, even sensitive skin. Good mixture For my personal glow complexion, I put 3-4 Glow Drops in the palm of my hand and mix them with a hazelnut-sized amount of moisturizer. I prefer to use a small spatula for mixing to get a homogeneous amount. I spread it evenly over the entire face. For an extra kick, I also apply a little of the shine concentrate as a highlighter – selectively on the highest point of the cheekbones and/or under both brow arches. In the evening, I cleanse my face as usual with micellar water. For environmental reasons, I use reusable pads that my sister made for me. Make-up palettes are not really my thing. Half of the colors and products I’ve bought so far have mostly remained unused. The green was too glittery for me, the mascara brush too thick and greasy, the eyebrow pencil far too hard. As a result, many a palette ended up in the bin at some point. Anything but economical and environmentally friendly. That’s right! That’s why I haven’t bought a palette for a long time. Face Oil? To say it right up front, I’ve never been a big fan of face oil. So far, they haven’t enjoyed a particularly good reputation in skin expert circles either – too oily, lingering on the skin without the benefit of being able to penetrate deeper to really make a difference. Face Oils Generation 2.0 With the new generation of facial oils, things have changed. And since I am a fan of the French noble brand Noble Panacea – already because of their practical, travel-friendly single doses and the stylish but sustainable packaging – , I decided to go there on a renewed “oil search”. The portfolio of the brand with the “clean” formulas has been expanded with two new face oils: from the series The Absolute the “Nourishing Lift Oil” and from The Brilliant the “Glow Hydration Oil”. I chose the latter because my skin can use an extra dose of moisture after the very warm summer days in Italy. A well-rounded thing The small round single of the face oil tin in bright fuchsia is quickly opened. The portion is just enough for the face. To my taste, the dosages in the discs at Noble Panacea are often a bit small. I noticed this especially with the Vitamin C Booster… But back to my new face oil: The “Glow Hydration Oil” is silky and absorbs quickly. I like that already very well, because I can not stand the “greasy” feeling of very rich products on the skin. The ingredients are high quality and focused on moisture and glow: Hyaluronic acid encapsulated in OSMV technology. Squalane tightens the skin with its cushioning effect. Retinol stimulates collagen and elastin production, reducing fine lines and wrinkles. Sea fennel extract replenishes the lipid barrier and thus compensates for deficiencies, allowing the skin to regain its balance. And last but not least, hazelnut kernel oil ensures a supple radiant complexion.. Application evening or daytime? I use the oil in the evening as a soloist. For an additional firm-and-beautiful effect, I massage the product with a Gua Sha stone when I have a lot of time and leisure (happens often!). The moisturizing facial oil can of course also be used during the day. However, it should then be applied as the last step of the care routine over the previously applied products. But that’s exactly why I still shy away from it during the day, because I would then have to apply the oil over my sunscreen – and then my slightly oily T-zone would shine even more.… weiterlesen

Glow for the skin – what is it actually?

Actually, you can no longer hear the word glow. Hardly any cosmetics manufacturer does not have at least one product in its range that promises glow for the skin. The beauty pages of women’s magazines outdo each other with recommendations for a “glowy” or “dewy” complexion. For men, by the way, glow is never to be mentioned; there, glow tends to be equated with oily. But what actually makes this mysterious glow of the female skin? Glow means as much as radiate or shine. The term has a positive connotation because it means softly glowing skin that looks as if an Insta-filter has been placed over it. A baby’s skin naturally possesses it. Even in youth, this rosy freshness is still present because the skin is well supplied with blood and has enough elasticity. Unfortunately, this natural glow diminishes with age, when environmental damage affects the skin and it is already thinner and less even due to wrinkles and pigment spots. It becomes visibly paler and loses its radiant appearance. What you got from nature when you were young, you need to work on it later. Perfect skin does not exist Don’t be embarrassed if your skin isn’t absolutely flawless. It only exists on TikTok, Instagram and Pinterest anyway, thanks to filters and light corrections. True, social media would have us believe that hair, pimple and pore-free skin is the norm and everything else is somehow „wrong“ with it. But that’s absolute nonsense! “When people talk about ‘radiant skin,’ they usually mean an even complexion without spots – a smooth surface that reflects light in a flattering way,” confirms London dermatologist Dr. Justine Kluk. It’s a misconception that only glowing skin is healthy, and if it’s not, you’re doing something wrong. Although you eat healthy, get enough sleep, moisturize your skin, wear sunscreen, don’t smoke, and all of these can obviously be better for your body and your skin, ‘glow’ is not a reliable indicator of your health,” Dr. Kluk says. Even if someone has acne or rosacea, they may basically be a healthy person. Step by step This is not to say that you can’t improve the appearance of your skin. Tested for you: Shimmer Oil „Natural Glow“ from Björk & Berries

I’m always very careful with shimmer oils. I don’t like to shine like a Saturday Night Fever disco ball from the 70s and I also find glitter particles all over my clothes rather annoying. However, I am positively surprised by the shimmer oil from the Swedish Eco Luxury brand. First shake well so that the shimmer particles are well distributed in the bronze-colored oil.I first put a few drops on one shin with the pipette to make the side-to-side comparison and then distribute the oil evenly with my fingers. It is dry, quickly absorbed and gives the skin a beautiful glow without it glistening. I want that on the second leg too. Then I venture on my forearms. The same pleasant result. If you want, you can also use the shimmer oil on your face. Not quite my cup of tea, but I can easily imagine a little glow on the cleavage. Shimmer oil with a scent The oil is enriched with birch extract and naturally shimmering minerals for a radiant look. Moisturizing organic oils with vitamin E ensure intensive care and protection against free radicals. What I also particularly like is the fruity-fresh scent that reaches my nose. Subtle and not intrusive. I look at my palms. Where other shimmer oils leave a glittering film, I only see a few scattered particles shimmering shyly. The “Regard Glow” tinted stick is touted as an indispensable beauty secret weapon against dark circles, puffiness and signs of fatigue. Raised a lot, my dear. I want to know more. At first glance: the tinted stick in a salmon-colored garment is handy and small and can even be put in a small clutch. Plus point. And: It consists of 99 percent ingredients of natural origin, so there are no skin irritations or other undesirable side effects of the sensitive area under the eyes to be feared. Another point! One tinted stick for all The inside of the stick is presented in a skin-colored universal shade that suits every complexion. When applied, it releases an ultra-fresh, delicately melting texture. The first “coat” goes wrong. However, it’s my own fault because I pressed too hard when I applied the tinted stick. I get too much “material” and am punished with light-colored circles under my eyes, which cannot be easily blended. Next attempt: I just spread a thin layer of the balancing pigments under both eyes and spread it evenly. In fact, the 3-in-1 tinting stick masters its three tasks in an exemplary manner: dark circles and puffiness are concealed, and every trace of tiredness has disappeared. The glow is back! It is always said that true beauty comes from within. And when it comes to smooth skin and firm connective tissue, collagen plays an important role.
